Are you ready to own a pet turtle?

First of all, think about why you wanted a turtle? Have you had the opportunity to observe and communicate with animals from your acquaintances, or is your desire more likely due to rumors, and the “romantic” images of the turtle are made up of mysterious pieces based on cartoons, books and anecdotes?

Are you sure you want to get a turtle?

A turtle is a pet for many years (the life of turtles is 40 years or more). A turtle is a rather big initial financial expense (a terrarium or an aquarium with equipment, lamps, soil, top dressing, food for turtles). The turtle is a non-contact animal that does not become attached to the owner. Turtles, like other reptiles, are turned on more for contemplation than for playing with them or other interactions, as with mammals. You can’t play with a turtle, they quickly get bored with children. But on the other hand, this is a corner of the exotic in a city apartment or in a country house!

Before purchasing a turtle, consider:

1. Knowledge – find out in advance how turtles live, what to feed them and how to care for them. If you do not read about the conditions of keeping in a timely manner (before buying), you risk spoiling the reptile’s health quite quickly. 2. Money – you will need money for terrariums, aviaries, food and lamps. Although in total it is not more than 5000r, you still need to take care of this in advance. 3. Space – keep in mind that the turtle will grow up, and you need to find a place in advance where a large aquarium or terrarium will be located. 4. Free time – the construction of enclosures, their improvement, care, feeding and observation of animals, and possibly their treatment will take time. 5. Interest in animals – turtles can get boring for those who bought them as a gift for children, as a toy or keep them somehow. A turtle in a beautiful terrarium looks much more profitable for itself and for guests than a turtle in a box and under the sofa.

Most people get pets and turtles, including spontaneously, that is, without reading the information in advance and buying an animal just because they like it at the moment. And it’s very good if, when the owner of the animal comes home, he gets into books or the Internet to read about the pet and how to properly care for it. The turtle.ru website recommends that you first familiarize yourself with the correct content of the turtle, and then get yourself such an interesting pet.
