Anubias Nangi

Anubias Nangi, scientific name Anubias “Nangi”. It is a hybrid breeding form of Anubias Dwarf and Anubias Gillet. It was bred by American Robert A. Gasser, the owner of Quality Aquarium Plants in Florida. The plant has been commercially available since 1986. The peak of popularity came with 90-e. Currently not as common in the hobby aquarium hobby, it is used mainly in professional aquascaping.

Anubias Nangi is relatively low – 5-15 cm. Due to the wide leaves in the shape of a heart and a short petiole, a compact bush is obtained. They form a creeping rhizome. Can be planted both on the ground and on any surface, such as driftwood. Due to their size they are suitable for use in nano aquariums.

Some sources indicate that this plant prefers high temperatures and is generally quite capricious in care. However, there is also directly opposite information that the content is not a little more complicated than other Anubias. The editors of our site adhere to the latter point of view and recommend it, including beginner aquarists.
