Anubias graceful
Anubias graceful or gracile, scientific name Anubias gracilis. It comes from West Africa, grows in swamps and along the banks of rivers, streams flowing under the canopy of tropical forests. It grows on the surface, but during the rainy season it often becomes flooded.
A rather large plant if it grows out of water, for example, in paludariums. Reaches a height of up to 60 cm due to long petioles. The leaves are green, triangular or heart-shaped. They grow from a creeping rhizome up to one and a half cm thick. In an aquarium, that is, under water, the size of the plant is much smaller, and growth is greatly slowed down. The latter is rather an advantage for the aquarist, as it allows planting Anubias graceful in relatively small tanks and not be afraid of overgrowth. It is easy to care for and does not require the creation of special conditions, perfectly adapts to various environments, is not picky about the mineral composition of the soil and the degree of illumination. It can be considered a good choice for the beginner aquarist.
