Anubias
Anubias are semi-aquatic flowering plants from the Aroid family (Araceae), characterized by wide, dark, thick leaves growing from a single center (rosette). In nature, they grow in the tropical zone of Central and West Africa in shady places along the banks of rivers, streams and swamps. Unlike most other plants, they do not grow on the ground, but are attached to the underwater roots of trees, snags, stones.
Considered by many as one of the most unpretentious aquarium plants. They do not need a high level of lighting and the additional introduction of carbon dioxide, they are not sensitive to nutrient deficiencies in the soil. They can grow both in aquariums and in paludariums in a humid environment. In addition, due to the tough leaves, Anubias can be used in aquariums with Goldfish and African Cichlids, which are prone to eating aquatic vegetation.
