6 things dogs don’t like
Surely every dog owner wants to see the pet happy. But, unfortunately, very often people, when getting a pet, do not bother to gain knowledge about the needs and preferences of dogs. And often, out of ignorance, they give the dogs a lot of unpleasant experiences that could have been avoided. What do dogs not like?
1. Unpredictability and chaos. If a dog lives in a world that is unpredictable, it is as if he is moving through a minefield. She does not know for what actions she will be praised or scolded. This gives rise to anxiety and uncertainty, makes the dog nervous, irritable, and sometimes aggressive, kills any useful initiative in the bud. So it is very important that in the dog’s life there are clear rules that are clear to her, your actions are predictable, and the requirements for the pet are feasible for him.
2. Shouting and swearing. If a pet does something “bad”, there are three reasons. First, the living conditions are not suitable for the dog. The second is that you did not teach her the right behavior or you yourself unwittingly taught the “bad” one. Thirdly, the dog does not feel well. In any case, you should not scream, swear, stomp your feet or in other ways “pressure” on the pet and intimidate him. It is necessary to understand the reason and work with it. Then there will be no reason to cry.
3. Loud sounds. Some dogs are terribly afraid of loud noises – this is called noisephobia. But even if the dog is not afraid of shots, explosions of firecrackers, fireworks and the like, this does not mean that it enjoys, for example, too loud music. The hearing of dogs is much better than ours, and those sounds that even seem loud to us are amplified dozens of times for a dog. Therefore, think twice before taking your dog to a very noisy place. Or listen to music at full volume – after all, mankind invented headphones a long time ago.
4. Communication with unpleasant people or relatives for the dog. Dogs are evolved creatures that have individual recognition. So, their preferences, friends and enemies. And if communication with a veterinarian is a vital necessity (although most four-legged people are not enthusiastic about veterinarians), then for communication “for the sake of pleasure” and games, it is necessary to give the dog the right to choose.
5. Hugs and kisses. Humans are primates, and for our species, hugs and kisses are an expression of affection, although there are those who cannot stand such tenderness. For dogs, such actions are, to put it mildly, unpleasant, if not threatening. Some dogs agree to tolerate them, but this does not mean that they like it. There are furry ones who enjoy this, but they are in a clear minority. Therefore, before expressing your love to a four-legged friend, you should choose those forms that are really pleasant to him.
6. Places with strong smells. Dogs have a fantastic sense of smell. And if we feel a strong smell, then for a dog it is amplified tens of thousands of times. And in this sense, we and dogs have different ideas about beauty. Therefore, you should not take your pet to places where it smells strongly of some chemicals, perfumes or other “aromas”. But natural smells are just to their liking, and at least periodically traveling with a pet to a forest or field, where he can get new impressions, including with the help of his nose, is very useful.
