5 myths that prevent you from choosing “your” cat

Popular misconceptions about cats debunked by executive and lead actor  Dmitry Kuklachev.

A few words about the author. At the age of five, Dmitry was diagnosed with an allergy to cats. By the age of 12, he was cured with the help of the Willy Breathing System Buteyko. After 4 years, he won the Golden Cat award – he was recognized as the most original actor of the year in Britain. Today Dmitry Kuklachev is the head and leading actor. He not only continues, but also develops his father’s business. His pupils act in commercials and films. Remember the Behemoth cat in The Master and Margarita? He is also a pupil of Dmitry.

  • Myth 1. “A person chooses a cat”

I will tell you a secret. It is not the man who chooses the cat, but the cat who chooses the man. In order not to be mistaken, evaluate the reaction of different pets: who reaches out to you, and who ignores you. My advice is not to choose with your eyes. Don’t be fooled by pretty pictures. Choose with your heart. Then your cat will feel it, and you will be on the same wavelength.

  • Myth 2. “Cats are attached to the place, not to the owners”

In my opinion, a cat can become attached to a place only if this place is a food supply, and the pet does not have a loving owner. Cats sometimes find people who left them. Even if they have moved. If a pet is comfortable with a person and feels safe next to him, then he will never leave the owner.

Despite self-sufficiency, cats know how to love and be friends.

The myth that cats get used to the place is most likely due to their ability to find their way to the house from anywhere in the world. The theory of the scientist Frank Morel claims that the cat’s paws contain microscopic grains of metal that are sensitive to the earth’s geomagnetic field. It is for this reason that the cat is able to return to its native Palestine, even if it was taken away from there in a bag.

  • Myth 3. “Cats need to be trained”

In fact, cats are not trainable. Unlike their older counterparts, tigers and lions, who are used to living in packs, cats are independent creatures. They do not have a gene of submission, they are not used to obeying the leader. Therefore, all attempts to suppress cats are doomed to failure. Personally, I do not train cats, but I look for where they are interested.

In fact, training is a method of carrot and stick. And he does not work with cats – these pets understand only gingerbread. The whip causes a sharp rejection in cats and the desire to escape.

  • Myth 4. “It is impossible to walk with a cat”

On the contrary, if your cat is used to walking, do not deprive her of her favorite pastime. Joint walks are very close. The main thing is to accustom your pet to a harness. So at the same time give the cat relative freedom of movement and at the same time stop worrying about her safety. If the cat does not tolerate the harness, but loves walking, some teach their pets to sit on their shoulders. To do this, just drop a little valerian on the neck. But I do not advise you to let the cat out on the street without supervision.

  • Myth 5. “A cat does not need love, but to be fed”

From my own experience, I realized that it is necessary to communicate with cats at the level of love, at the level of the subconscious. However, many refer to them as a piece of furniture. Such people haveat home there is a table, a sofa, a picture and a cat“. They fed her, cleaned up after her, sometimes played and that’s it. But you can see a more subtle creature in a cat.

Many people have no idea how loyal and devoted a cat can be.

We had a case: two kittens were born on tour in England. They lived with me in the room. They ate and slept with me. When it was time to leave, I had to leave them for a while while I did the paperwork. Their father stayed with them. He said that when I left, the kids climbed onto the bed and one had tears in his eyes. Then I could not establish relations with them for a long time.

Cats are self-sufficient, but this does not mean that they do not become attached to people. Persistent myths make it difficult to properly understand pets and establish a strong bond with them. Choose a cat with your heart, love it and be sensitive to it – and the strongest friendship will definitely develop between you.
