Winter games with a dog on the street
Do you know what makes a dog truly happy? Maybe a delicious lunch, an appetizing treat, a comfortable couch? Of course, this is all true. But the dog’s greatest happiness comes from communicating with his beloved owner, in particular, exciting games. In addition to the emotional component, active games are a necessary contribution to the health and harmonious development of the pet. And today we will talk about what games are best to keep the dog busy during the winter months.
Russian winter is famous all over the world for its cold, and, of course, any responsible owner will not allow a pet to freeze during a walk. In addition, for this it is not at all necessary to pick up a leash and arrange a joint sports run with a dog (however, take note: this is very useful!). It is quite enough to stock up on special toys that can be thrown over long distances so that the dog catches up with them and, accordingly, splashes out the energy accumulated during the day.
Games are not only an exciting leisure activity, but also a way to strengthen the bond between the owner and the dog, as well as a great way to maintain excellent physical shape.
Our four-legged friends (especially those with an active temperament) just love to frolic on the street. And if, in addition, the owner praises for the item found and brought on command and treats you to delicious delicacies, then there will be no limit to delight!
For outdoor games during the winter months, fetches, various balls and flying saucers (frisbee) are ideal. Such toys you can throw far over long distances, and your four-legged friend will happily rush after them and return them to you under your approval.
- Fetching
Fetching is ideal for throwing and fetching games. It is better to choose light toys, for example, from flexible, but durable synthetic rubber that does not crack in the cold (for example, Kong Safestix). The shape of the toy is also important: light and curved apportions fly better than their counterparts.
- balls
Perhaps, balls are the most versatile, popular and favorite toys for all dogs. Pets love them even more, among other things, because many modern models can not only bounce, but also squeak (Kong Air), and they can also be very pleasant on the tooth.
For games in winter, it is best to choose balls of bright colors so that they are visible in the snow. Do not forget that the size of the ball must correspond to the size of the dog, and the material from which it is made must be safe for the teeth.
- Flying saucers (frisbee)
Catching objects on the fly, bouncing after them – it’s hard to imagine a more exciting game for a dog. Synthetic rubber frisbees (such as Orka Petstages flying saucers) will last long and well, as they do not form nicks that can damage the dog’s mouth.
And do not forget that the more variety of toys a dog has, the better. So they will not have time to get bored with her and will bring only the brightest and best emotions every day!
