Why exhibitions are needed and what they are
Almost every owner of a thoroughbred dog who is not indifferent to the fate of the breed has participated in exhibitions at least once in his life. Some lucky ones have yet to debut. And they need to know what exactly awaits them. The Belarusian Cynological Association (the main dog breeding organization in Belarus) has developed a regulation on exhibitions based on the Rules of the FCI – International Cynological Federation. Everything is very detailed there, but we will mention the main points.
Why are dog shows needed?
- Appraisal of the dog’s conformation: i.e. how your pet fits into the breed standard.
- Demonstration of the level of livestock, identification and display of the best dogs: how the genes of your four-legged friend can be useful in the development of the breed.
- The development and popularization of dog breeding in Belarus: people look like exhibitions, admire the dogs – you see, next time they will run around the ring themselves.
- Encouragement of the best breeders and owners: everything is clear here, the most beautiful – the most delicious buns.
