But this does not mean that these cats do not need to be combed. Necessary. Grooming a short-haired Kurilian Bobtail will take a minimum of time: you only need to regularly stroke the cat with a special mitt to remove excess hair. A semi-longhair cat will need to be brushed once or twice a week. And do it with a metal comb. For this procedure, it is better to use a special antistatic comb, you can buy it at the pet store. Bathing bobtails is not necessary at all – after all, their coat practically does not tangle and does not get dirty!

In addition, if you have chosen the Kuril Bobtail breed, keeping and caring for it should include taking care of the condition of your pet’s eyes and ears. This means checking them periodically. For prevention, the ears should be wiped shallowly with a simple cotton pad dipped in a special lotion until the disk remains clean after wiping. This procedure is carried out to clean the auricle from excess sulfur and dirt, disinfects the ear. Teach your pet to this procedure from childhood, and in the future this process will be quick and easy.

The eyes of the Kurilian Bobtail do not require special care. If you find a brown discharge in the corner of your eye, then you should also use a cotton pad moistened with warm water to remove them.

As with cats of other breeds, infectious and parasitic diseases pose a danger to bobtails. Therefore, they need to be regularly vaccinated and treated against parasites. The best nutritional option for them will be premium varieties of feed with a balanced composition. Remember that in natural conditions, all felines are predators, and bobtails also love sea fish! Therefore, the care and nutrition of the Kuril Bobtail should be tailored to the special needs of his body.
