When it comes to rabbits, these cute animals are a special treat for animal lovers. There are good reasons for this, however, domestic rabbits are extremely unstable to various diseases and, in addition to great benefits, can bring a lot of trouble. Most often, these animals are susceptible to infectious diseases. First of all, bleeding may indicate a serious state of health of a rabbit. In this case, you can’t hesitate, and the sooner the owner helps the animal, the more chances he will have to survive.

There can be many causes of nosebleeds in rabbits, but one of the main causes is heat (or sun) stroke. In this case, in addition to blood from the nose, other disturbances in the behavior of the pet are also noticeable – coordination of movements and breathing is disturbed, fainting and convulsions are possible. The main thing in this situation is not to get confused, the owner of the rabbits must be prepared for unforeseen situations in order not to waste precious time, and act clearly and thoughtfully. The first thing you need to take care of when deciding to start breeding rabbits is where the animals live. Heatstroke or sunstroke leads to a serious condition for people, needless to say that rabbits experience it much more painfully. There are a number of signs that should alert the owner of the rabbits, because, most likely, their presence indicates an impending problem.

So, if animals refuse to eat, behave inactive and sluggishly, lie motionless for a long time, but at the same time leg cramps are noticeable; if they have weak shallow breathing, body temperature is elevated, and the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth are filled with blood, urgent measures must be taken, because even the presence of several of these signs indicates heat or sunstroke.

Urgent measures are as follows: you must immediately transfer the rabbit to a cool place and wipe the animal’s neck and ears with a damp cloth. It may be necessary to place the rabbit under a shallow shower (water temperature should be 30 degrees), while trying not to wet the head of the animal. Next, you need to enter subcutaneously 1 ml. gamavit, which must be in the first aid kit of every livestock breeder. Then subcutaneously inject sulfocamphocaine (at the rate of 0,5 ml per kilogram of weight), sulfocamphocaine should be administered twice a day. It is necessary to continue making injections for no more than three days. You should also regularly place a cool, damp cloth on the rabbit’s forehead.

It is impossible not to notice that domestic rabbits, like other pets, are very sensitive to the manifestation of human care and love. Although at first glance it seems that they do not understand everything that is happening, in fact they are not. Every time the owner comes to the cage, you can see how the rabbits come to life. Especially touching is the moment when a sick animal gratefully pokes its nose into the hand of its rescuer.

If the bloody discharge from the nose of the rabbit is abundant, and blood clots in the respiratory tract interfere with normal breathing, it is necessary to carefully remove the blood clots from the nasal passages, after which drops from a runny nose can be dripped into the nose.
