The optimum water temperature for a tropical fish tank is 24-27°C. In this range, most popular species (zebrafish, barbs, tetras, cockerels, gourami, etc.) will feel quite comfortable.

In addition, many fish tolerate a long stay in relatively cool water (about 20 ° C). For example, goldfish are able to live in unheated aquariums (without heaters) and open ponds during the summer months.

In nature, small fluctuations in water temperature occur regularly, for example, after heavy rains or during the daily cycle of day and night. The latter is especially evident in small reservoirs. The influx of cool water for many species is a signal for the breeding season.
