The nature of the guinea pig

The nature of the guinea pig nice. Guinea pigs are endowed with a meek, very calm and quiet disposition. But at the same time they are sociable and feel great in the company. They really like being stroked, they love to take care of themselves. Guinea pigs prefer silence, however, if they have the opportunity to adapt, they can live in noisy rooms.

By nature, guinea pigs are not noisy pets and rarely make sounds. Only pregnant females have the habit of “chirping” for a couple of minutes, talking with their spouse, or males, when courting, make sounds reminiscent of purring. However, like people, guinea pigs have a different character and temperament. Sometimes there are very “talkative” individuals who just give a reason to squeak. But even the most sociable pets will not bother you at night. If you treat your little friend skillfully and kindly, he will be tamed very quickly and will be ready to spend at least the whole day in your company, except for meal times.

But if handled roughly, a guinea pig can become aggressive. Offending guinea pigs is not recommended – they are quite vindictive.

 The nature of guinea pigs is distinguished by increased caution, so that they instantly react to unfamiliar smells or noise. Even the slightest noise disturbs them. The guinea pig will rear up on its hind legs, sniffing and looking around, trying to figure out where the noise or smell is coming from. And only when she is convinced that nothing threatens her, will she return to the interrupted lesson.
