Maine Coon
Height: 30-40 cm at the withers
Weight: 8-10 kg
As the largest cat in the world, the Maine Coon breed has entered the Guinness Book of Records several times. Outwardly, it looks intimidating – a powerful body, clawed paws, tassels on the ears. However, according to breed requirements, these cats must have a friendly character. Therefore, for the most part, Maine Coons are affectionate, love children very much and get along well even with dogs. Maine Coons rarely get sick, but are very sensitive to the quality of food.
Norwegian Forest Cat
Height: 30-40 cm at the withers
Weight: 5-8 kg
The Norwegian Forest Cat is another representative of large cat breeds. Norwegian Forest cats quickly master the rules of behavior in the house: they go to the toilet in a tray, and sharpen their claws only on a scratching post. They are very patient with children of any age, do not show aggression towards them. They prefer to be near the owner, but they do not like direct attention from him. They are quite picky in food, their sizes directly depend on nutrition. Virtually no health problems. They love to walk, climb trees and hunt.
Ragdoll
Height: 30-40 cm
Weight: 5-10 kg
Ragdolls have an interesting feature – in the hands they relax and fall into a stupor. They are devoted to the owner, like dogs, they follow him everywhere. They differ in a peculiar meow, more like the cooing of pigeons. They are in good health, but sometimes there are heart problems.
Burmese cat
Height: up to 30 cm
Weight: 3-6 kg
Burmese cats are companion breeds. They need constant attention of the owner and active games. Very patient and gentle creatures, do not like loud sounds. They don’t tend to overeat, so feel free to leave their bowls full. They have almost no health problems.
Savanna
Height: 30-40 cm at the withers, 1 m in length
Weight: 4-10 kg
The first Savannah was born from the mating of a domestic cat and a male serval. The resulting hybrid kitten showed a combination of domestic and wild traits. Savannahs are known for their canine qualities: they can learn tricks and walk on a leash. From servals, they got a love for water, so their owners specially organize small ponds for their pets. The Savannah cat is registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest.
Siberian cat
Height: up to 33 cm
Weight: 4-9 kg
In winter, Siberian cats grow feathers on the hips and a collar around the neck, because of this they seem even larger. By nature, they are similar to guard dogs, they can be unfriendly to guests. They are more comfortable living in a private house, as they like to walk a lot in the fresh air. They have real Siberian health.
Arabian Mau
Height: 25-30 cm
Weight: 4-8 kg
The Arabian Mau breed appeared as a result of natural development and was not exposed to human influence. They are athletic cats, so be prepared to play a lot with your pet. Arabian Mau are devoted to their master, like dogs, and, in case of the slightest threat, will rush to his defense. In food, they are not picky, but they are prone to gaining excess weight. Breed diseases in these cats are not registered.
Turkish van
Height: 35-40 cm
Weight: 4-9 kg
Turkish Vans are famous for their colorful eyes and their love of swimming. They are considered the national breed of Turkey, now their numbers have greatly decreased, so the authorities have banned the export of Turkish Vans from the country. By nature, they are good-natured, but they will hit back the children if they squeeze them. They have good health, but some representatives of the breed are born completely deaf.
Chartres
Height: up to 30 cm
Weight: 5-8 kg
Chartreuse is a powerful, stocky breed, males are much larger than females. Chartreuse wool is dense, slightly fluffy, adding volume to already not small animals. They like to lie on the couch more than play. Quite playful, but calmly remain alone for a long time. There may be problems with the joints due to excess weight.
british shorthair cat
Height: up to 33 cm
Weight: 6-12 kg
British Shorthair cats have a balanced character, they do not like to just run around the apartment and play. They do not single out a pet among family members, they are friendly to everyone. They tend to be overweight, so their diet should be carefully monitored. The dense wool of the British requires daily care, otherwise it will lose its beauty.
