Maintenance and care
The Santa Cruz Corydoras spends most of its time at the bottom, so when designing an aquarium, the focus is on the lower tier. The catfish needs soft sandy ground and several shelters. The latter can be driftwood, thickets of plants or any other natural or artificial decor. The design on the other tiers is not significant.
Maintenance is simple and does not require the purchase of expensive equipment or time-consuming specific procedures. Aquarium maintenance is standard and applicable to most species. To maintain high water quality (minimum pollution) within an acceptable range of temperatures and values of hydrochemical indicators, it will be required: weekly replacement of part of the water with fresh water, regular removal of organic waste (feed residues, excrement), cleaning glass and decor elements from plaque, preventive maintenance of installed equipment, etc. d.
Food. Unpretentious, will accept most popular feeds in dry, frozen and live form. It is advisable to use sinking foods, as catfish prefer to feed near the bottom.
behavior and compatibility. Refers to peaceful calm species. Gets along well with non-aggressive fish. They strive to be in the company of relatives. If several Corydoras are acquired, they form a group.
