Sagittaria broadleaf
Sagittaria broadleaf, scientific name Sagittaria platyphylla. It occurs naturally in North and Central America, grows in shallow water in streams and lakes. Amphibious plant – able to grow both in the air and in the state immersed in water.
A related species in relation to Sagittaria subulate. Differs from the last size of the leaves. In favorable conditions, when placed in an aquarium, the sprouts develop wide (1.5–2 cm) long leaves up to 25 cm with a rounded tip, collected in a rosette. The rhizome is compact, fibrous, tuber formation is possible.
The content is simple. Healthy growth will require a soft substrate and moderate lighting. The hydrochemical composition of water is not significant. Withstands low temperatures down to 4°C. The optimal range is considered to be 18–26 ° C. Grows slowly. Reproduction is possible with the help of lateral processes, but they rarely appear. Used as a solitary plant.
