Rotala sunset
Rotala sunset or Rotala sunset, the English trade name Rotala sp. Sunset. This plant was previously misidentified as Ammannia sp. Sulawesi and is sometimes still supplied under the old name. Presumably comes from the island of the same name Sulawesi (Indonesia).
The plant develops a strong erect stem with linear leaves arranged two at each node. Single hanging white roots often appear on the lower part of the stem. The color of the leaves depends on the growing conditions and can vary from solid green to red and burgundy. Red shades appear in acidic soft water, rich in trace elements, in particular iron, in conditions of high light and regular introduction of carbon dioxide.
The content is quite difficult due to the need to maintain a certain mineral composition. Under adverse conditions, the leaves begin to curl and gradually die off.
It is recommended to place in the middle or background, depending on the size of the aquarium, directly under the light source.
