Rotala pearl
Rotala pearl, English trade name Rotala macrandra “Pearl”. It is one of the breeding forms of Rotala macrandra, does not occur in nature. Outwardly, it resembles another variety of Rotalu mini “Type No. 2”, but differs from the latter in even shorter leaves with a twisted shape, curved down. Depending on growth conditions and lighting, the color of the leaf blade varies from green-yellow to red, with red tints appearing most clearly on the underside of the leaf.
The above applies to the underwater form of Rotala pearl. The plant is also able to grow in air on moist substrates. Under these conditions, the leaves become completely green and even more miniature.
Considered relatively difficult to maintain. For active healthy growth, it is necessary to provide soft nutrient soil. It is advisable to use special aquarium soil rich in minerals. Lighting level is high. The plant should be placed directly under a light source and planted away from fast-growing species that can shade Rotala. With a lack of lighting, the leaves lose their bright colors and subsequent wilting.
