Rotala green

Rotala green, scientific name Rotala rotundifolia, variety “Green”. Artificially bred on the basis of Rotala rotundifolia. A distinctive feature is the color of the leaves. Regardless of the degree of illumination, they retain their green color, while the rest of the Rotal forms turn red in bright light. The underwater shape of the leaves is narrow and elongated. In the surface position, the leaf blade becomes rounded.

The sprouts of Rotala green tend to lean (overhang) when they reach a certain height. Numerous side shoots form dense thickets. It grows quickly and often exceeds 50 cm. For this reason, it is worth choosing a background or middle plan for placement in an aquarium, depending on the size of the tank.

The content is simple. Can grow over a wide range of temperatures, pH and dH. Optimum conditions are achieved in soft, slightly acidic water with moderate to high light.
