“Puppy in quarantine – we have nothing to do with him!”
Some owners think so and … they miss precious time, which is then impossible to return. Quarantine is not “simple” in a puppy’s life. The kid still learns a lot every day, every minute, with your help or in spite of your efforts. And it depends only on the owner how useful the skills that the puppy will acquire during quarantine will be.

How to raise a puppy during quarantine?
It is necessary to start raising a puppy from the first day when he appeared in your house. Of course, it is not worth teaching all commands at once. First, let your toddler explore and explore the new home.
The little puppy eats, sleeps and plays. This should be used, because the right game is a great way to develop the puppy’s motivation, teach concentration and the ability to switch.
Do not miss the time that the puppy lives in quarantine. It is during this period that you can easily establish contact with your pet. It’s not difficult: learn to play with your pet honestly, sincerely and with full dedication. You have a chance to teach your four-legged friend to love playing with you, and when you are outside, it will be much easier for you to switch the pet to you when, for example, he gets to know other dogs.
A small puppy often eats, which means that every meal can be turned into a mini-workout. But remember that classes should not be long (no more than 5 – 10 minutes).
What can you teach a puppy during quarantine?
- Say the name of the puppy and give a piece – this is how you learn to respond to the nickname.
- Seed from the puppy, and when he runs after you, call by name and give a piece – this is how you begin to teach the pet to call.
- Training for a harness (collar) and a leash.
- You can start teaching your puppy commands (for example, the “Sit” command) – but always in the game and on the positive!

Quarantine is a great opportunity for passive socialization. If the puppy is small, you can take it outside in your arms, walk along different routes, take a ride in public transport.
At home, you can introduce your puppy to different surfaces (linoleum, tiles, rug, foil, old jeans, cushions … whatever you have enough imagination for).
You can also introduce the puppy to different objects, and it is useful to teach him the command “Check!” – the puppy will examine objects, touch with his paw, try on the tooth. Do not just forcefully drag the baby to the object – wait until he dares to approach himself.
