Proper dog walking
Any dog should be walked at least 2 hours a day. But what to fill the walk with? What walk can be considered correct?
5 components of the right walk with the dog
- Physical training. Dogs need exercise, but it needs to be done in the right way. Appropriate physical activity strengthens the dog and gives her pleasure. Don’t forget to warm up and cool down. Use stretching tricks, balance exercises, and strength exercises.
- Work on obedience, including exercises for self-control and endurance. Moreover, it is important that the dog really thinks, solves the problem, and does not obey only the mechanical influence on your part.
- Shaping. This is a great activity that strengthens contact with the owner, builds the dog’s self-confidence and initiative, and also helps to solve many behavioral problems. We wrote about shaping in detail on our portal earlier.
- Games with the owner in toys. Games with a dog must be correct, and we have also written about this more than once. Throwing the ball 300 times in a row won’t work.
- relaxation protocols.
Do not forget that the end of the walk should not be active. The dog needs to calm down before returning home.
