Philonotis
Phylonotis, scientific name Philonotis hastata. It occurs naturally on all continents in the tropical climate zone. It grows in damp places on stones, rocks, snags and other substrates, as well as floating on the surface of still water (swamps, lakes, backwaters of rivers). This small deciduous moss forms dense, light green clumps that resemble fleecy pillows or mats.
Rarely used as an independent aquarium plant. As a rule, it is used in paludariums, or enters the aquarium along with other aquatic plants. In the latter case, it is placed on snags protruding from the water, less often it is released into free swimming.
Philonotis is not at all whimsical and adapts perfectly to various conditions. The only thing to remember is that it does not grow underwater.
Propagated vegetatively by small modified twigs that are separated from the mother plant and turn into a new cluster of moss. In aquariums and paludariums, it is usually propagated by dividing existing thickets into several fragments.
