Peristolifolia Guyana
Cinnamon Guyana, trade name Myriophyllum sp. Guyana. Although the name may indicate the region of origin – the territory of the state of Guyana in South America, nevertheless, the natural habitat of this plant is not known. It was first exported to Europe from Japan in 2011.
It forms compact dense thickets with sprouts 5–20 cm high and up to 3 cm wide. The leaves are pinnate in shape and consist of thin needle-like fragments. Peristolifolia Guyana outwardly is very similar to Peristolifolia Madagascar, but differs from it in a more dense arrangement of leaves on the stem.
Able to grow in air on moist substrates and completely submerged in water. Due to its modest size, it can be used in small tanks, so-called nano-aquaria.
Relatively easy to maintain. Optimum growth conditions are achieved in soft warm water, bright to moderate light levels and nutrient soil. As a last resort, it is recommended to purchase a special aquarium soil rich in trace elements. In a favorable environment, it actively forms side shoots. Periodic thinning is required so that the sprouts do not shade each other and do not interfere with growth.
