Moh Pilo
Moss Pilo belongs to the genus Pilotrichaceae, family Laubmoos. The exact species affiliation is unknown. It has been used as an aquarium plant for the first time since 2007, and since 2014 Aquasabi has started its commercial breeding in its nurseries.
In nature, it grows in humid places near water (edges of streams, waterfalls), forming dense thickets covering the surfaces of rocks, stones and snags. Outwardly, it resembles Weeping Moss (Vesicularia ferriei), forming many tiny branching shoots, covered with miniature leaves, located along one axis. Such an arrangement of leaves creates a feeling of a flattened or squeezed shoot.
Unlike Weeping Moss, Pilo Moss is able to grow firmly as rhizoids into wood, stone and other surfaces, from which it will be very difficult to separate it. For this reason, when placed in an aquarium, it should not be placed on internal equipment and design elements of decorative value.
Unpretentious and easy to maintain. Able to grow in various conditions. It is not sensitive to the level of illumination and the hydrochemical composition of water. Prefers warm water not lower than 18°C. It is noted that in low light, moss tends to grow horizontally.
