Ludwigia hybrida
Ludwigia hybrida, scientific name Ludwigia x lacustris. It is a natural hybrid form between Ludwigia brevipes and Ludwigia marsh. It comes from the eastern and southeastern regions of the United States, and the distribution area is sometimes beyond the limits of the parent species.
Rarely found in nature. It grows along the banks of shallow water bodies (rivers, streams, swamps). It was first described in 1933 under the name Ludwigia ozernaya. Since 2010 it has been used as an aquarium plant.
Under water, Ludwigia hybridus forms thin, erect stems with narrow green or brown-orange leaves. In the surface position, the leaves turn green and acquire the usual oval shape.
The maintenance is simple due to the ability of this plant to adapt to different conditions. Able to grow in a wide range of temperatures and pH / dGH values, not demanding on the mineral composition of the soil and the degree of illumination. In favorable conditions, it forms many side shoots, turning into a lush bush.
