Little Red Riding Hood
The Redcap Oranda Goldfish is perhaps the most famous color variation of the Oranda. It has a recognizable coloration – the body is white, and the growth on the head, also known as the “Cap”, is a rich red or cherry color. Otherwise, it completely repeats its predecessor. The body is short, rounded, the fins are large forked, with the exception of the tail. The growth begins to form at the 3-4th month of life, and by the age of two it reaches its maximum size and acquires a characteristic color.
This species is widely distributed, but is considered very demanding and is not recommended for beginner aquarists. Fish do not tolerate cold temperatures well and need high water quality. The growth on the head has tiny folds that can get dirt, microscopic debris, provoking infections and infections.
