The plant can grow both underwater and above water. It has a tall erect stem, on which are fan-shaped feathery leaves of green or reddish color. Upon reaching the surface from the main (central) stem, many side shoots are formed, creating a dense accumulation on the water surface. In favorable conditions, white single flowers may appear. Reproduction is simple, it is enough to separate the side shoot and you get a new plant, or divide the stem in two and plant the cut part in the ground, it will soon give roots.

Limnophila sessile-flowered belongs to unpretentious plants, successfully adapts to various conditions, including low light. A soil rich in trace elements, in particular iron, contributes to the manifestation of red shades in the color of the leaves. Additional introduction of carbon dioxide is not required, but it is desirable to use it if possible. From this, the plant will become “lush” and more compact and by reducing the height between tiers and increasing the length of the leaves.
