Limnophila broad
Limnophila broad, scientific classification of Limnophila sp. “Broad”, also used by Limnophila sp “Wide”. It is a natural variety of Limnophila fragrant. In nature, it is widely distributed in South and Southeast Asia, where it grows along the banks of water bodies, including in a submerged state.
As already noted, it is a close relative of fragrant Limnophila, which is manifested in the external similarity of both species. Plants form a strong erect stem with elongated paired lanceolate leaves with a serrated edge on the whorl. Limnophila broad is distinguished by larger leaves and a different color. In intense light, the leaves take on a purple-red hue, and in moderate light, they become coppery. The height of one growth is 15–35 cm wide from 4 to 9 cm.
Lighting is not the only important condition for growth. It is necessary to provide soft nutrient soil. Granular aquarium soil rich in iron is a good choice. It is iron that gives the rich color palette of the leaves. An additional introduction of carbon dioxide 20 and 25 mg/l is recommended under the condition of high sanctification and the presence of soil rich in microelements.
