Lagarosiphon Madagascar
Lagarosiphon Madagascar, scientific name Lagarosiphon madagascariensis. As the name implies, this plant comes from the island of Madagascar. Widely used in professional aquaristics due to Takashi Amano’s natural aquariums.
The plant forms dense floating clusters. It has a thin, fragile, but at the same time a long stem, from which needle-like translucent leaves of a light green color extend. In favorable conditions, it grows very quickly and in a week a small sprout is able to cover the entire surface of a small aquarium. Fortunately, the degree of growth is easy to adjust, usually by trimming, removing unnecessary fragments.
Lagarosiphon Madagascar is quite demanding and is not recommended for beginner aquarists. For normal growth, soft warm water is required, rich in macro- and microelements (NO3 – 5-15 ml / l and PO4 – 1-2 ml / l), carbon dioxide. A CO2 generator is among the mandatory equipment. The illumination is bright, in terms of spectral composition close to sunlight. The lack of one or another element quickly leads to withering.
