Aquarium Fish Species

Killy fish

Killi fish belong to various families and live almost all over the world, both in freshwater and in brackish waters. The main thing that unites them is a similar habitat, which affected their size and appearance, so they have many common features. The name comes from the Dutch word “Kilde”, which literally translates as “a small stream, puddle.” It is in such reservoirs that these fish live, and sometimes in rather extreme conditions, when the water level fluctuates greatly or the reservoir dries up altogether. Most of the Killy fish presented in the aquarium hobby are brightly colored, medium in size up to 10 cm, and feed mainly on live food.
