- Inserting a catheter into a turtle
Insertion of an intrapulmonary catheter is used to inject drugs directly into the lesion through the carapace. The catheter can be left on the animal, and then medicines are given at home. Inhalation is carried out twice a day in the operating room: the animal is placed in a herpetic chamber and allowed to breathe the medicine for a while.
