The discovery came suddenly and somewhat traumatically when Nastya, unaware of the trick, went into the kitchen. And Something swooped down on her head without declaring war.

Yes, a gentleman always calls a cat a cat, even when he stepped on it in the dark, but Nastya was not a gentleman in any way. So the parrot settled in the house. Nastya tried to teach him to talk, but the bird was silent, like a partisan under interrogation by the Gestapo, and just as defiantly looked at her with beady eyes. Nastya, being a decent girl, was looking for legitimate owners and finally, to her indescribable relief, she found one. The owner of the bird turned out to be an old woman – God’s dandelion, for whom the impudent feathered was the meaning of life, the light in the window and, in general, almost the only factor brightening up the hardships of existence. Nastya with relief dragged the pet to her home. Grandmother, who had already lost hope of ever seeing the lost treasure, immediately pulled it out of its cell confinement, lamenting “Keshenka, Keshenka!” … your mother! – What? Grandmother asked dumbfounded, probably in the hope that this was still hearing loss, and not a cruel reality. – … your mother! – the bird repeated enthusiastically, continuing to run along the sleeve. – Keshenka! – the pale old woman barely uttered. – Who taught you this? Nastya, who, on the contrary, acquired a crimson skin tone, hastened to say goodbye and retire. – Here’s the scoundrel! She was outraged afterwards. – He was silent for two weeks, although I taught him to speak normally, but it was worth hearing one, just one time to swear – and please! And what will they think of us now?
