How to train a puppy: commands
Many owners, especially those who have a pet for the first time, are at a loss: how to train a puppy, what commands to teach it?
We have already answered the question “how to train a puppy” more than once. Nevertheless, we emphasize once again that all puppy training is built in the form of a game, classes should be short and not tiring for the baby, as well as interesting.
Puppy training: basic commands
But what commands to teach a puppy in the process of training? As a rule, for most dogs, the following commands are the most important:
- “Sit”.
- “Lie”.
- “Stand”. These three commands are very useful in everyday life, for example, helping to keep the dog in place while washing paws or putting on a harness, on public transport or when meeting guests.
- Excerpt. This is a much needed skill based on learning the first three commands. As a result, the dog learns to “keep its paws” and maintain a certain position for a certain time under stimuli, for example, when people walk around and dogs run around.
- “To me”. This command allows you to attract the attention of the dog at any time and in any situation and call it, which means avoiding many possible troubles.
- “Let’s go.” This command, unlike the “Near” command, does not require walking strictly at the owner’s feet, but helps to teach the pet to walk on a loose leash and allows you to distract if the dog is interested in something undesirable.
- “Ugh”. This command is given if the dog grabbed something that was not intended for it.
