Dry food storage rules
- Dry packaging should be closed to minimize contact with air.
- If you buy food by weight, put it in a plastic jar and close the lid tightly. You can also use iron and glass jars.
- If you bought a large package of food (more than a month), put a small amount (about a week) into a jar with a tight-fitting lid so you don’t need to open the big bag.
- Do not store food near heaters or in the sun. The high temperature releases fat and the food spoils.
- A cold place (like a refrigerator) is also not a good choice. Condensation can accumulate in the dry food bag and the food will become moldy.
- Do not leave soaked dry food in the bowl for the whole day: it will turn sour.
