Horse “goat”: we talk on the topic

No matter how long we ride, each of us could remember one or more of our horses, which “goat” most and most inconveniently. These horses are unlikely to be on our favorites list (unless they win every tournament or they have some other amazing qualities). Journalists from the media resource Heels Down Mag argue that horses inclined to “play” can be divided into 4 main groups. I wonder if you agree with them or not.

“Playing” reluctantly

It is difficult to understand whether it was actually a kick, or the horse was just trying to chase away a fly, because such lovers of “goat” usually do not tense up much to demonstrate their irritation. Basically, this group includes older horses and ponies, who don’t really want to run, let alone kick.

Demonstrating a good mood

For these horses, it’s a way of saying “Whoa, freedom!”, for example, when you’re galloping across an open field or out for training in a large arena. Representatives of this group express their emotions and love of life with a good kick. They don’t care if they are right in front of the referee at the competition or in an open field quite far from home, they need to share their good mood here and now.

Expressing team spirit

After all, this is quite a common occurrence when an athlete, after a successful completion of the route, slaps the horse on the neck, as if saying: “We did it, friend!”

Among the horses, there are also lovers to express their attitude to what is happening and gratitude to a teammate. You’ve bounced a clean route or swooped over a giant oxer, and your horse is happy that you both managed to do it. As he shows it, he gives a good backhand so that you can hardly stay in the saddle. And what, for the sake of team spirit, you can endure 🙂

Those who go to the end

Members of this group take the matter seriously. The moment they goof off, all they want to do is kick you out of the saddle. “You will fall anyway sooner or later” is their motto. Such horses “goats” purposefully and in most cases get their way. Their goal is to drop you in the sand and make you watch as they kick and jump away from the working field. As they say, good deeds cannot be glorified 🙂
