Maintenance and care
Almost all species and most breeds of Guppy are distinguished by their endurance and unpretentiousness to the environment. 2-3 fish will feel comfortable in small aquariums with a volume of 10 liters or more. The choice of design is not essential and is selected at the discretion of the aquarist.
High water quality depends on regular maintenance of the aquarium and the smooth operation of the filtration system, which is especially critical in small volumes. Weekly maintenance procedures include: removal of organic waste (feed leftovers, excrement), replacement of part of the water with fresh water, cleaning of glass and design elements, preventive maintenance of equipment.
Due to its ability to live in a wide range of hydrochemical parameters, water treatment will not cause difficulties. It is enough to let the water settle and it can be used.
Food. With pleasure they accept most foods of a suitable size in dry, frozen and live form.
behavior and compatibility. All Guppy breeds are friendly and get along well with other peaceful species of comparable size (more in a separate article). There are no conflicts or aggressive competition within the species.
