Maintenance and care

Being by nature unpretentious and hardy fish, their presence in the artificial environment of aquariums for many generations has made these catfish completely undemanding. Even a beginner in the aquarium trade will not find it difficult to keep Gomez Corydoras. It is enough to provide a spacious aquarium from 80 liters (for 4-6 fish) with several shelters on the bottom of the sandy substrate. The stability of the aquatic environment is ensured by the uninterrupted operation of the equipment, primarily the filtration system, and the regular maintenance of the aquarium. The latter includes the weekly replacement of part of the water (15–20% of the volume) with fresh and timely removal of organic waste (feed residues, excrement).

Food. A varied diet that combines dry, fresh frozen and live foods is considered optimal. However, catfish may well be content with dry flakes and granules. The main condition is that the food must be sinking, since these fish spend a significant part of their life at the bottom.

behavior and compatibility. Peaceful friendly fish. Thanks to its calm disposition and ability to adapt to various water conditions, the list of possible aquarium neighbors becomes very impressive.
