golden mollies
Gold mollies, English trade name Molly Gold. On the territory of the CIS countries, the synonymous name “Yellow mollies” is also widely used. It is an artificially bred color variation of such popular species as Molliesia velifera, Molliesia latipina, Molliesia sphenops and their hybrids.
The key characteristic is the uniform yellow (golden) color of the body. The presence in the colors of other colors or patches of spots will indicate belonging to a different variety.
The shape and size of the body, as well as the fins and tail, depends on the original species or the specific breed. For example, Yellow Mollies can have a lyre-shaped tail or high dorsal fins and grow from 12 to 18 cm in length.

Maintenance and care
Features of the content are identical to other varieties of Mollies. Optimal living conditions for 3-4 fish are achieved in a spacious aquarium from 100-150 liters, densely planted with aquatic plants, with clean warm (23-28 ° C) water, the hydrochemical values of which are in the region of 7-8 pH and 10-20 GH .
It is acceptable to stay in slightly salty water for a long time, provided that such an environment is acceptable for the rest of the inhabitants of the aquarium.
The key to long-term maintenance are: regular maintenance of the aquarium (disposal of waste, water changes), a balanced diet and the right choice of compatible species.
Food
Although these fish are omnivores, there is an important clarification – the daily diet should include herbal supplements. The most convenient are special feeds in the form of flakes, granules, made taking into account the needs of Mollies, produced by many manufacturers. It is worth noting that delicate aquarium plants are likely to be damaged by fish, so it is advisable to use fast-growing, unpretentious varieties in decoration.
Behavior and Compatibility
Mobile peaceful fish. In small aquariums, it is recommended to maintain the size of a group with a predominance of females in order to avoid excessive attention to them by males. Compatible with many other types of comparable size. The exception is aggressive large predators.
Breeding / breeding
The appearance of fry is considered a matter of time if there is at least one sexually mature pair. Juveniles are born fully formed and ready to eat. Adult fish do not show parental care and may, on occasion, eat their own offspring.
