Eleocharis Shingu
Sitnyag Eleocharis giant or Eleocharis Xingu, scientific name Eleocharis sp. Shingu. Available in the aquarium hobby since the 1990s. There is no exact information about the origin of this plant. Probably the first imported specimens were collected in Brazil (South America) in the Xingu River basin, from which it received one of its names.
It is worth noting that in the markets of North America, in particular the United States, an identical plant is sold Sitnyag Montevidensky. They are probably the same species, but at the time of writing, they were still supplied under their own names.
Eleocharis Xingu forms long thin stems growing from a compact rhizome, forming a dense bunch. In the surface position, the bush grows up to 20 cm in height, and in the state immersed in water, the length increases to half a meter. At the tips of the stems, small spikelets are formed, only 5 mm high, which disintegrate as they ripen, releasing black seeds.
