Echinodorus Schlueter
Schlueter’s Echinodorus, scientific name Echinodorus schlueteri, other popular names are Water plantain or Leopard Echinodorus. Widely distributed in America in the tropics. In favorable conditions with a sufficient level of illumination and a substrate rich in organic matter, the leaves acquire a beautiful light green color with red or red-brown pigments. Such specks gave the name “Leopard”. It grows slowly, reaches a height of 20 cm or more.
It is an excellent ornamental root plant that is easy to care for. There is only an important condition – fertilizers containing iron must be applied to the soil. With its deficiency, the leaves of the plant become weak and thin, and eventually completely destroyed.
