Dry nose in a cat: when to worry
Concerned owners often ask if a dog’s dry nose means it’s sick. And the answer to this question is no. There are many reasons why your cat might have a dry and warm nose – it doesn’t have to be that she’s not feeling well.
For example, if your cat is basking in the sun, in a poorly ventilated room, or lying next to a radiator or fireplace, her nose will be dry. It can become dry and wet several times a day.
What to watch out for
However, there are a number of things about your pet’s health that can be judged by the condition of his nose. If it’s cracked, crusty, or open sores, your cat may have skin problems and you should take her to the vet for a checkup. If your cat is sick, the dry nose can be explained by dehydration.
Also, when examining your cat’s nose, you should pay attention to the presence of discharge. If they are, they should be transparent. If the discharge is foamy, thick, yellow, green or even black, you should definitely take the animal to the veterinarian for examination.
