Dog breeds that do not need to be walked for a long time
In the conditions of a big city with its frantic pace of life, it is quite difficult to choose a pet that does not require long walks in the fresh air. This is especially true for dogs. However, there are at least ten breeds that do not need walking. Of course, if the owner wants to warm up, the pet is unlikely to be against, but he will not insist on long walks either.
Ten Breeds You Shouldn’t Walk With
- Toy Terrier. Because of their tiny size, toy terriers can easily get by with walks on the balcony or even in the apartment. For the toilet, you can organize a tray or a special diaper for them. Despite their active nature, representatives of the breed do not need to walk and can be constantly indoors.
- Chihuahua. One of the most good-natured and unpretentious breeds. They have good immunity and calm character. Long walks are not necessary for them, but at any time you can take your pet for a walk, and to the store, and on a short trip.
- Yorkshire Terrier. Yorkies – one of the most common miniature dog breeds. Many people keep them as companions. Yorkies do not tolerate cold at all, so sometimes walking is rather contraindicated for them. In the warm season, they can be taken outside, but still they prefer to spend most of the time in a comfortable room or on pens.
- Welsh Corgi. The favorite breed of the English queen is very unpretentious in care. If the owner does not have time for many hours of morning and evening walks, they can be completely abandoned. This is one of the breeds of dogs with which you need to walk a little. Corgis would rather play with family members at home than go out into the rain and wet their fluffy fur.
- Pomeranian. Another miniature breed, which even in adulthood will weigh no more than five kilograms. Spitz very quickly learns to go to the toilet in a tray or on an absorbent diaper and does not require walks. But this does not mean that the dog will lie on the bed all day – she also needs active entertainment and games.
- Pug. Pugs are ideal for people leading a sedentary lifestyle. The most favorite pastime of this breed is to wallow on the couch in an embrace with the owner. They are easy to train and quickly learn to go to the toilet at home. If the owner suddenly decides to go for a walk, it is important to ensure that the pug does not pick up anything – representatives of this breed are very curious.
- Shih Tzu. Not the most common breed in the Russian Federation. This compact and neat dog looks like a Yorkie and a lap dog at the same time, but is distinguished by extreme affection for the owner. It is best if someone is always at home, then shih-tzu won’t be bored. For walks, the breed is completely undemanding.
- Chinese Crested. A miniature breed with a very unusual appearance. In cold weather conditions of the middle lane, walks are not recommended. However, even for a walk in the summer, the dog will need a special jumpsuit, otherwise it will catch a cold. She goes to the toilet with pleasure in the tray.
- Japanese chin. Representatives of this breed love to walk, but they are calm about the lack of long exercise, preferring to spend time with the owner. They are easily trained. If you start training at a very early age, they will quickly get used to going to the toilet in the tray. Chins are very affectionate and are great with children.
- Bichon Frize. Bichon can be walked on the balcony – sometimes they need fresh air. Long walks outside are not a necessity, unlike trips to the groomer – during the molting period, their coat requires careful care.
Recommendations
A dog of almost any breed can be taught to do their business in a tray or on a diaper. However, representatives of large breeds are vital for long walks in the fresh air. For homebodies and people who do not like long promenades, dogs of a miniature breed are best suited, for which walks are completely optional.
