Corydoras Rabo
Corydoras Rabo or Orange (Red) Corydoras, scientific name Corydoras rabauti, belongs to the Callichthyidae family. It comes from the basin of the Javari River, one of the right tributaries of the Amazon. It originates in the Peruvian Andes, and the mouth is located at the point where the borders of Brazil, Peru and Colombia meet. This species probably lives in other regions of the Amazon, but there is no reliable information on this matter. Prefers small streams and channels with a slow current, backwaters and lakes formed as a result of flooding of forest areas.
Description
Adults reach a length of about 5-6 cm. The main color is rust-orange, a wide dark stripe runs along the upper body, stretching from head to tail. The fins are translucent without a pattern. There is an artificially bred variety of Cory Albino or Corydoras Albino. A characteristic feature of this morphological form is the absence of pigmentation. The color is completely white, including the eyes. Sexual dimorphism is weakly expressed, it is problematic to distinguish a male from a female, the latter is somewhat larger, especially during the spawning period, when the abdomen is filled with caviar.
