Corydoras gracilis or Cory catfish slender, scientific name Corydoras gracilis, belongs to the family Callichthyidae (Shelled or callichthy catfish). He is sometimes seen under the name Shy Corey. The fish is native to South America from the central Amazon basin in northwestern Brazil. Inhabits small streams and rivers with dense coastal vegetation flowing through dense tropical forest. The channel is littered with fallen branches, foliage, tree trunks.

Description

Adult individuals reach a length of 3–4 cm. A characteristic feature of the body pattern is the light lower part of the abdomen and a black arched strip stretching from head to tail. A dark strip on top is framed by a yellowish line. Dark pigmentation is noticeable at the base of the dorsal fin.

The presence of shelters in the form of branches of roots and other snags, as well as leaf litter, is welcome.
