Communication with the Sphinx: features of behavior and education

Sphynx cat – no loneliness!
Sphinxes just need attention – they do not tolerate loneliness very well, they can become depressed because of it. Therefore, make sure that your cat or cat always has a company: you or your loved ones, or even better, some other animal in the house. If you are not around for a long time, he will not get bored so much and will find a good companion in a dog, a rabbit, another cat, and even better – another sphinx. Yes, yes, Sphynx cats know how to behave with other four-legged and get along well with them.
Good punishments
Even with frequent washing, sphinxes, due to their characteristics, sweat all over their bodies. Sweat glands secrete a special secret through the skin, the excess of which not only stains the animal brown, but can also stain furniture with textile upholstery, rugs, blankets, and especially bedding, on which these cats love to soak up and take a nap next to the owner. Therefore, it is necessary not only to carry out constant care for the sphinxes, but also to educate them a little: drive them out of bed and scold them for hooliganism. In this case, you can use only “easy” methods – violence is contraindicated, it can only lead to aggression or turn you into a source of fear and danger in the eyes of a pet. Instead, perform “intimidating” actions from a distance – for example, spray water from a spray bottle or hiss a little, swear, but in no case shout. Most often, it is enough to say in a stern voice, stamp your foot or clap your hands loudly – and the sphinx will understand that he did something bad. Sphynxes are very intelligent animals, strictly following the hierarchy. If you initially make it clear to the pet that you are the head of the house, raising a sphinx will not cause difficulties.
preventive measures
The same applies to any bad habits of the Canadian sphinxes (as well as the Don ones): if they spoil things, gnaw on plants, you should not punish them for this, but prevent repeated hooliganism. So, for example, a cat should be provided with toys that will arouse more interest in him than your carpets, curtains or slippers; to plants – to make access difficult, and to make the “crime scene” inconvenient and unsuitable for black deeds: put a bowl of food there, a large vessel of water or an object that cannot be moved away.
Features of the Sphynx cat breed: careful handling
Sphynx practically do not show aggression. Some “violent” actions can be caused by the stress experienced by cats when they are afraid of something or they really dislike something. Seeing a dog or hearing the noise of a vacuum cleaner, the animal can cling to a person with its claws – you need to try to eliminate the cause of the fright. Also, a feature of the sphinx can be considered a probable resistance to water procedures and other care. You need to accustom them gradually, while being patient and affectionate, and then use the encouragement method – praise the animal, stroke it, play with it.
