Christian Alman, one of the best riders in the world, is working hard despite the coronavirus situation. He is already thinking about the 2021 Olympics, but has not yet decided which horse he will ride there.

«As for the Olympics, I have two horses that I can rely on. I think both Clintrexo Z (by Clintissimo) and Dominator (by Diamant de Semilly) have every chance to go to Tokyo with me next year. Clintrexo is the same horse I rode at the European Championships in Rotterdam last year, so despite his young age, he already has some experience. I think Dominator has all the necessary qualities to compete in the Olympics, but the future will show how he will develop. I may never have a horse like Taloubet again. He had amazing abilities. And, of course, I am very sorry that the Olympics will not take place this year, but it was the best decision in this situation.”

“Why have I not played for the German team for a long time? I didn’t want to be permanently responsible to the Federation. Then I noticed that I began to miss playing for the national team more and more, and, as a result, I decided to start playing again in the well-known red coat. Now we together with the Federation found a good solution that satisfies us all. The most important thing for me is that I am happy to represent my country. Once that feeling is gone, I won’t do it again.”

Meanwhile, the Dutch top rider Harry Smolders said that perhaps his choice of a horse to compete at the Olympics will be unexpected – he is considering the candidacy of Escape Z.

«Escape (by Emerald) is now 8 years old and it is certainly a year of transition for him. Now I mostly work it out at home and it’s getting stronger. Plus, I use the time to make it better. I think it’s just good for him that there are no competitions now. I have high hopes for him, but I’m afraid that the Olympics will be too soon, and I don’t want to rush him, he still has everything ahead of him.
