Cat bed: your right choice
It’s no secret that a cat walks by itself. And that means that she goes to sleep where she pleases: on the arm of the chair, on the windowsill or on the soft master’s pillow. But the choice of a cat does not always please the owners. The pillow after the sweet sleep of the pet remains strewn with wool. And basking on the windowsill in the cold season, a freedom-loving domestic predator can seriously catch a cold.
Couches help solve the problem. They are not only suitable for dogs, but also for cats!
We used to think that dogs need beds, and a cat will always find a cozy place to relax and sleep. But not everything is so simple.
- First, let’s not forget about molting. If the cat often lies on the sofa, you are unlikely to dare to sit on it in a new skirt without first thoroughly cleaning it.
- Secondly, not all owners like it when a pet stretches out on their favorite pillow.
- Thirdly, do not forget about the health of your pets. Cats love to sleep on window sills (as well as cupboards and refrigerators), and sometimes it’s hard to keep them out of the draft. Sleeping on a cold surface provokes colds, which, without timely intervention, lead to serious complications.
Beds in this case are the ideal solution to the problem. Soft and comfortable, they become a favorite resting place for four-legged friends and provide protection from drafts.
How to choose the right cat bed?
There are many beds in pet stores of various sizes, shapes and colors, for every taste. In fact, most of them are universal: they are suitable for both dogs and cats. When choosing a model, you should be guided by the following parameters:
The quality of the material and seams. The durability of the bed depends on this, how comfortable it will be for your pet and how easy it will be to clean.
Machine washable. Keeping a bed clean is easier if it is machine washable. Not all models are machine washable, which means you have to clean them by hand. Please pay attention to this item before buying.
Bed size. Choose the model on which your cat can stretch to its full height.
Bed form. This item is more relevant for dogs, as they most often sleep in one favorite position. Cats in this regard are more unpredictable and always sleep in different ways: either curled up, or stretched out at full length. Therefore, the best choice would be a couch “for growth”.
If you are buying a round bed, choose a size so that the cat has the opportunity to sleep not only in a ball, but also in a relatively free position. Beds with sides are very popular. Cats love them for their cozy feel, and the side can also be used as a pillow! By the way, ultra-soft beds with double sides are ideal for kittens.
For babies who have recently arrived in a new home, beds with sides replace the warmth and comfort that kittens experienced next to their mother. This makes it easier for them to adapt to new conditions.
Additional benefits. Some models of beds are not only a comfortable place to sleep, but also a play area. These are, for example, beds-houses. Firstly, they are very cozy and incredibly warm (which means they are ideal for hairless breeds). Secondly, various toys, manholes and scratching posts can be located on the outer walls of the house, which will certainly brighten up your pet’s leisure time.
If you want to build a truly spacious multi-level house for your cat (or several cats at once), pay attention to cages-aviaries (for example, from Midwest). Usually they are purchased for dogs, but cats love them too. Couches can be placed along the walls of the enclosure, a soft cozy house and toys can be placed on the floor, and the cage itself can be covered with a blanket to make a cozy hut, as we built in childhood. The cats will love it!
Have a nice holiday with your family!
