Can a dog forget the one he loves?
Sometimes a person needs to leave for a long time, and he worries that the dog will quickly forget him. And, counting the days until a new meeting, he is afraid that the pet will not even remember him. Can a dog forget the one he loves?

The mind of a dog remains a mystery to humans in many respects, but, nevertheless, researchers are inclined to believe that it is not so different from the human. Dogs can create and store memories just like humans, and just like us, they can forget. Dogs also have diseases, such as something like Alzheimer’s, which can cause animals to lose their memories. But illness aside, the question remains: can dogs forget their owners if they don’t see them for a long time?
The best evidence of the magnificent memory of our pets can be considered the cases that we learn about. For example, there are many touching videos on the Internet about how the owner returns home after many years of separation, and his best friend goes crazy with delight. And the stories about dogs that have been waiting for owners for years – why not proof?
These stories prove that our best friends remember the smallest details about the people they love, from looks to smell. We can say that their perception is “sharpened” for their adored owners.

The dog will surely remember the person with whom it has pleasant associations. And even if she does not recognize him at first sight, a second later she will definitely understand that in front of her is the most beloved creature in the world.
Experts have not come to a consensus on whether dogs can forget the person they love. But when you read the story of Hachiko, or when you return home after an absence (albeit not for many years) and see the delight of your pet – what more proof do you need?
