Bucephalandra Sampit, scientific name Bucephalandra sp. Gunung Sumpit. Comes from Southeast Asia from the island of Kalimantan (Borneo). The first samples of this species were collected at the foot of Mount Gunung Sumpit, which was later reflected in the name of the plant. It grows along the banks of small streams and rivers flowing down from the mountains under the canopy of the tropical forest. It grows on any hard surface (rock, snag), forming dense clusters.
It belongs to a relatively large variety of Bucephalandra. The plant has rich dark green leaves are elliptical in shape, tapering towards the base, and slightly wavy edge. The stem is short, creeping. The root system is very strong, thanks to which the plant is able to reliably attach to stones and resist the flow of water. On long inflorescences, white funnel-shaped flowers are formed, when they fade, they look like an inverted bell.
It grows both above water and underwater, but in the latter case, growth will be slow. Needs warm slightly acidic water with low carbonate hardness. Any lighting level. Can not be planted in open ground, only on any surface. Can be used in paludariums and aquariums.
