black telescope

Black telescope (Black Moor Goldfish – English) or Black Moor is one of the color varieties of the Telescope. It has a short ovoid/round body shape with large bulbous eyes protruding from the sides of the head. The fins are long, loose, resembling a butterfly in shape, veiled varieties are less common. Juveniles are dark bronze in color and do not have bulging eyes. As they mature, a velvety black color develops. It is worth noting that adult fish may not have a similar coloration, this may be due to advanced age (more than 13-15 years) and / or inappropriate temperature conditions. In warmer water, the Black Telescope turns grey.

This species is recommended for beginner aquarists due to its ease of maintenance and unpretentiousness. However, the structural features of the eyes impose certain requirements on the design of the aquarium and the choice of neighbors. In the interior, thin sharp objects and pointed edges should be avoided. Due to poor eyesight, fish may not be able to compete for food with more active neighbors. Choose slow-moving fish or organize several feeders. A harmonious community is obtained with other Telescopes, Astrologer, Water Eyes.
