Barbus sophore
Sophore barbus, scientific name Puntius sophore, belongs to the family Cyprinidae (Cyprinidae). The fish comes from the interior of Asia, is found in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China. Inhabits rivers, streams (including mountain streams) and lakes. Lives in shallow water.

Description
Adult individuals reach a length of up to 18–20 cm. The color is silvery with a dark back, a red stripe stretches along the lateral line. Young fish have a uniform color, the strip is absent. Pelvic and anal fins are reddish, other fins and tail are dark grey. The fish has a large massive body. Short antennae are visible on the head near the mouth.
Behavior and Compatibility
Peaceful calm fish. However, it may chase smaller tankmates. Compatible with members of its own species and other non-aggressive fish of comparable or larger size.

Maintenance and care, arrangement of the aquarium
It is considered an easy-to-keep hardy fish. Sophora barbus successfully adapts to life in various conditions, therefore, after acclimatization, it is able to live in almost any aquarium with soft or hard water.
Decoration is also not essential and is selected at the discretion of the aquarist or based on the needs of other fish.
Maintenance of the aquarium is standard and includes at least a weekly replacement of part of the water with fresh water, removal of organic waste and maintenance of equipment.
Food
An omnivorous species, will accept any popular aquarium fish food. It can equally be dry, frozen and live food.
